Saturday after work I was feeling a little grumpy and easily irritated so I just prayed that God would cause me to serve Chris with joy all night. I set my mind to serving him in everything that we did and it truly turned out to be a wonderful night and next day. I cooked porkchops and baked potatoes (pictures coming soon) and I made a fabulous dessert…found on Jubella.com
) It’s a mini pear pie type thing…wonderful thing really. We sat and ate for a while and talked about how wonderful heaven will be. Then yesterday was even better!
I woke up at around 7 am and usually Chris sleeps in way past me so I get up and read or clean or something, but that morning he woke up with me! That is my favorite thing. So we got up and got dressed and headed downtown for breakfast. We went to this cafe called Shades (Jessica, you will LOVE this place. We are definitely going here when you visit). It’s in a little old cabin, but it’s all hippied out. They have a great deck to eat out on and we got a delicious meal while wonderful music played in the background. It was really overcast, so we walked around downtown and held hands then decided to go home and take care of some stuff. We went home and cooked stuffed zucchini together (for night church) and we listened to three sermons by Francis Chan while I painted and Chris did Sudoku. Then I was in the room and Chris comes running in, “Hurry, put a sweatshirt on!” and he rushes around to make coffee so we can sit on the deck and watch the rain fall. So beautiful! Then when it stopped raining we went inside and played Sequence. After four games (3:1 Becky, for those of you who wanted to know) we headed out to church and Eric continued his teaching on John 1. We have been learning about the deity of Christ and the first 5 verses of John are so rich with truth.
Anyway, a great day off, a great husband, a great God, a great life.
